Using a unique technique, we work exclusively with shorn alpaca wool from healthy, living animals, applied to a textile backing.

A Personal Mission

For over ten years, I’ve worked in the alpaca wool industry — a sector known for its soft, warm, and luxurious products. But behind this beauty lies a harsh reality: traditional products are often made from the hides of deceased alpacas. For me, this was unacceptable.

Driven by a deep belief that things can and must be done differently, I founded COYA Alpaca — a brand built on innovation, craftsmanship, and above all, respect for animals, people, and the
planet.

One of the softest wools in the world

Due to the extreme climate in the highlands — where temperatures can fluctuate significantly between day and night — the alpaca has developed a unique fiber: smooth, hollow inside, and highly functional.

This structure ensures that the wool retains heat in cold weather and breathes in warmth. In Peru, alpacas graze freely in nature and are only sheared once a year with great care.

Each alpaca produces about 5 kilograms of high-quality wool — all in a completely animal-friendly manner.
